Tammi Brown

Tammi Brown is the fresh and new voice of the award-winning Lost American JazzBook, recently nominated for Best Jazz with Vocals album in the 18th IMA (Independent Music Awards). Brown has performed with some of the most notable Music Industry Icons known to the world including renowned Music Producer, Quincy Jones, Stanley Jordan, Dr. Maya Angelou, Joan Baez, Spyro Gyra, and Eric Bibb to name a few. She is currently a vocalist in the two-time Grammy Award nominated Vocal Ensemble, The Cultural Heritage Choir led by the Legendary, Musicologist, Linda Tillery.

Akindele Bankole

Akindele Bankole, is German-Born Nigerian American, and was introduced to Music theory under the teaching of his uncle Ayo Bankole (1935 –1976) in the early 1970s in Lagos. Akindelestudied Music formally at Sacramento State University in California, under Professor Luis Clayson (Dramatic Tenor). As a Tenor himself, Bankole began formal singing with the Sacramento State University Opera Workshopwhere he had his debut in the lead role of ‘Smiley’ in the Jumping Frog of Calaveras County, a story by Mark Twain. Bankole later joined Sacramento City Opera and thereafter, Opera San Jose. As a composer, Bankole writes his vocal lyrics in several languages, including Yoruba (his native language). He has written several arts songs; piano, vocal, choral, and orchestralworks; and is currently working on an Opera Lola’s Wedding.

From the Big Island of Hawaii, Lisa Lehua Taylor has been singing her entire life. from a household where she was exposed to theater at a very young age and her parents played everything from Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell and The Beatles to Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, she was always encouraged to pursue her love of music.

Leberta Lorál

Mezzo-Soprano/Soprano,Leberta Lorál is the eldest daughter of Pastor Emeritus Robert L. Renfro who was the pastor of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church from April 1982-February 1997. She dedicates this performance to both of her parents, Robert and Alberta Renfro.
